Need Supply Co. Autumn/Winter 2011 lookbook

I’ll admit that there’s been quite a lot of shop’s own lookbooks recently, but that in itself is probably indicative of the way in which the industry is going. Thus I’d expect plenty more retailers to start going the extra mile and also styling the products they sell into their own shoots.

A shop that’s been doing this type of thing for some time (although it’s been predominately biased towards Womenswear) is US retailer Need Supply Co. which has recently added this Autumn/Winter lookbook to their site.

Although the Mens selection is much smaller than their Womens offering there’s still plenty on nice clothing on display. Featuring brands like Rogue Territory, Woolrich, Pendleton, GANT Rugger, APC, Shades of Grey (more on them soon), Red Wing, Alden and Gitman Vintage there’s a broad range of brands in the mix and all are styled well with the cold weather in mind.

There’s some lovely bits of knitwear on show, the grey shawl neck cardigan by insight looks good, even if it is man-made fibers so it may not feel good. That aside though, the two-button placket and the fact that it’s quite ragged in its finish makes it a bit different to what I’d normally go for and I quite like that, plus it’s cheap so it’s not like you’re paying through the nose for an Acrylic mix like some brands would have you do.

And that’s not the only nice garment here, in fact all of what’s in show I’d happily wear myself and surely that’s the mark of a good lookbook?
