Three Over One Spring/Summer 2012 collection

October 24, 2011

I last featured this Australian Menswear brand back in June (find that here) with a look at their current collection for our Autumn/Winter season (their Spring/Summer). Well now here’s a look at what the brand will be doing for our next Spring/Summer (their Autumn/Winter) due to the Northern/Southern hemisphere crossover (still with me?).

As with the previous photoshoot, Three Over One’s owner Jim Thompson has once again roped in friends to model his new collection. The actual images have a lovely vintage quality too them with lots of muted tones and distress put into them and it’s a treatment that suits the brand and what it stands for – it’s also one that’s just interesting to sit and look at for a while too.

The process the images have been through though doesn’t detract from the clothing on show either, even if it does make it a little harder to see (although as with anything the best way to understand a collection is to actually pick things up and try them on). There’s still a heavy workwear influence that runs through all of this but that’s tempered with items like sweatshirts and patterned trousers, plus some more formal looks (amazing what I tie can do).

The labels desire to create clothing with character still shines through in all of this, and although you can’t tell from a photo, my first hand experience with the clothing tells me that the use of great quality fabrics and a focus on good fit and comfort are still paramount. Londoners will be pleased to know that Number Six are stocking some of this season’s range, so if you’d like to see for yourself then get down there or have a look online.

Like the Canadian Tuxedo. With denim being so ubiquitous in my wardrobe, I love the versatility a denim suit would create, but haven’t found the right one yet. I Like the balance of workwear to trad this suit has with the slash pockets on the pants and horn buttons, but wish the fit was more trim.
. . . will probably have to have one made special one day.

really liked this, the blue matching jacket and trousers works really well for me. nice to see the effect over the shots, makes a change from the norm. it does make it hard to see but it’s more intriguing i think

I like the shoes in pic 4. They might seem quite random, but I can’t seem to find that anywhere. Does anybody know where to find shoes like that ? Thanks
