Trickers x End Hunting Co. Repello suede Longwings

June 25, 2012

The fruitful collaboration between Newcastle’s End Clothing and Northampton’s finest Tricker’s is now in its fourth incarnation, and this time round focuses its efforts on a range of suede longwing brogues for Summer 2012.

This instalment is based around the re-working of the company’s much lauded ‘Richard’ silhouette, which is built on a 4497 last and available in four, muted and elegant colours (midnight, burgundy, turf green and snuff), with the use of a crepe sole and Repello suede uppers marking the difference to previous versions.

Repello is so named due to its shower proof properties, with the suede having already been given a Scotchguard treatment, which makes it ideal for the inclement British summer, meaning even if you do get caught in a shower you won’t ruin your shoes (and it saves you a job having to Scotchguard them yourself).

As you’d expect then shoes are Goodyear welted (with a natural Barbour welt) and the End team have added some simple features with metal eyelets, two-tone rolled ‘outdoor’ laces and a natural canvas pull tab on the heal. As usual the shoes are finished with a dual branded stamp on a natural leather insole and also have a natural leather sock liner.

Nice but crepe soles are always a no no for me on smart shoes, they’ll be black and looking fucking awful before you know it, all my dessies go that way after about 2 wears.

Heel and toe taps will help somewhat with that, Jonny.
