The drawings of Rogelio Naranjo

September 8, 2010

I randomly found these a while back whist researching illustration styles for another project at work – in much the same way I happened across the postcards of the Russo-Japanese war. They’re by the Mexican political cartoonist Rogelio Naranjo.

Rather surreal with a social message and rendered from simple line work in black ink, they have a complexity that belies their simple production methods and are incredibly striking. That’s pretty much all I know about them apart from the fact that they’re quite clearly brilliant.
