The Jante Law

The bods at Manchester’s Oi Polloi have just added a new label to their already impressive offering, in the form of Sweden’s The Jante Law. The label is said to take its name from a set of hidden rules that are prominent in Swedish communities (?!), and are certainly purveyors of some cracking knitwear.

The majority of their garments are produced in either Italy or France, which leads to a high level of finish and refinement that can often be lost in knitwear. At the moment Oi Polloi have three distinct styles in stock – the Arran jumpers are cable-knit from virgin merino wool with ribbed crew neck, hem and cuffs and available in either yellow or purple.

Sticking with jumpers, the next piece is another crew-neck but this time comes in a mix of acrylic/virgin wool/Alpaca/nylon in a two-tone stripe and loose knit. Finally there’s the ribbed, biscuit coloured cardigan with herringbone detailing, raglan sleeves, front pockets and a five-button placket. Lovely stuff that’s guaranteed to keep you warm in Winter.

    These passed me buy, couldn’t afford the prices but the mustard is pretty ace
