Outlier Ripstop heavy Merino shirt

September 13, 2013

Yet more very clever clothing from Outlier today. Their latest bit of garment technology comes in the form of this, the Ripstop heavy Merino shirt. By combining the strength and structure of nylon with the performance of merino, Outlier have produced a garment that’s strong and wear resistant whilst also having the ability to wick moisture and regulates temperature.

And the way it’s done is by cleverly weaving extrafine 19.5 micron Merino into a ripstop nylon grid, all of which adds up to a 350gsm cloth that’s perfect as an outer layer in warmer weather, and as a key layering piece as the temperature drops. It features a multitude of pockets – a pair of box pleat front pockets, an inside chest pocket and rear stash pocket, all giving you plenty of storage options.

The garment is single needle stitched with flat-felled seams throughout, again for strength and comfort, whilst the label’s renowned Pivot Sleeve system gives the wearer freedom of movement. The finishing touch are the custom Italian Mombasa buttons and as usual the whole thing is made in New York City.

For more information on the label, or to buy via their online shop, go to the website here: Outlier.
