Outlier experimental Tack Collar shirt

May 23, 2013

Experimentation is something very close to the core of everything Outlier do. Never ones to shy away from trying something different and working on the mechanics of their garments, which in turn produces traditional, yet technically advanced apparel.

The latest in the label’s experimental series is this, their Tack Collar shirt. It’s the sum of many of the brand’s thoughts on where shirts could go – taking a traditional collar and redesigning the neck opening, removing the top button so it sits open comfortably. Whilst at it, the button-down buttons were done away with and replaced with stitched bar tacks.

In addition they’ve made the shirt short-sleeved and constructed it from their Blazed Cotton (an openpoint Oxford cotton that has been ‘blazed’ with a high tech Nano-Tex® treatment that emulates the self-cleaning properties of a lotus lea) so that it repels dirt and sweat, perfect for Summer in the city.

Not hugely ‘experimental’ in my book but still nice nonetheless.
