Nigel Cabourn Autumn/Winter 2013 collection

January 15, 2013

Below are the lookbook images for Nigel Cabourn’s Autumn/Winter 2013 collection, which takes its inspiration from the hunting and fishing estates held by the British aristocracy from 1901 to 1952. Cold weather clothing is undoubtedly what Cabourn excels at, and this is yet again full of excellent outerwear.

The military influence is ever-present and the collection once again sees favourites like the Everest Parka and Cameraman jacket reissued once again. There’s also plenty of new pieces to get your teeth into, with the jackets – especially the pieces in the third and fourth images, plus the Montgomery duffel coat all being utterly superb.

This collection also marks the collaboration with Lanificio Cerruti, and sees this historic (established in 1881) Italian company supply fabrics for the collection, and in particular contribute the 750 gram, 100% cashmere that’s used to reinterpret the coat of Lord Montgomery.

The collaboration was also celebrated at this year’s White Milano trade show (held 12th-14th January), with an event that centered around the sixtieth anniversary of the ascent of Everest, and an exhibition of clothes inspired by the 1953 expedition led by Edmund Hillary.

I’m liking this way more than his Spring/Summer stuff.
