Clae Vibram collection

September 25, 2012

American brand CLAE are the latest in a long line of footwear manufacturers to adopt the now rather ubiquitous Vibram Morflex sole to its range of boots. Love or loathe the styling of it, there’s no denying the durability of this sole unit, which probably goes some way to explaining its enduring popularity over the past few seasons.

There are two models that receive this outsole, the first of which is the Romare Hi Vibram. It’s a full grizzly leather boot coming in a nice shade of tan (black is also available) and features a hand-stitched moccasin toe box, reinforced lace stay, natural leather welt and quilted nubuck ankle collar.

The second model is the desert boot inspired Strayhorn Vibram. It’s a simpler silhouette than the Romare and one that balances perfectly with the chunky sole. It comes in a choice of either smooth pull-up leather (in black or Oxblood) or the striking grey nubuck above, which is my particular favourite.

For more information on the brand, or to find your nearest stockist, or to buy any of the range online, go to the website here: Clae.
