Paul Davis Autumn/Winter 2012 collection

September 20, 2012

Here’s a look at the latest images of Paul Davis’ new collection for Autumn/Winter 2012. It’s inspired by the transition of influences via our increase in mobility and mixing of different cultures, with the images shot around Gendarmenmarkt in Berlin, by Vancouver based photographer, Trevor Brady.

It’s a collection of refined, beautifully tailored and perfectly detailed Menswear. The colour palette is a simple one of blue, grey, black and brown, which helps give the important things like cut and finish an opportunity to be at the forefront of the garments. And they don’t need anything to hide behind anyway, because everything in this collection is top notch.

The trench coats, Mackintoshes and wool Peacoats feature over sized collars and lapels, with a complimentary shift in proportion which gives an asymmetry to some of the garments – it’s these touches that perfectly balance the traditional and contemporary in Davis’ collections. Tailored jackets are deconstructed but still retain their elegance, and combined with smart dress shirts give the entire collection a perfectly refined, yet casual aesthetic.

The range of materials used throughout is of the best quality possible and has been sourced from around the world –  wool comes from the Austrian Alps, flannels from Italy, shirting fabric from Switzerland and waxed cottons from our very own shores. A huge amount of thought and effort has gone into this range and that, without doubt, shines through.

Wonderful collection. Why does no-one stock this over here?

This is exactly what modern menswear should be like.
