London Collections: Men – Omar Kashoura Spring/Summer 2013
Sunday was the last day of London Collections: Men and it was the day Omar Kashoura showed his latest Spring/Summer 2013 collection. It ‘s a range that’s full of great pieces, many of which have a strong emphasis on relaxed tailoring.
The Black Rock Desert of North Nevada was said to be a reference for the collection and the range of colours on show only serves to reinforce this – with dusty oranges, sand, yellow and grey all present. Navy adds depth to outfits and lighter shades of blue are also present on many pieces to break things up.
Checks feature heavily, with an almost pixel type pattern being printed onto crisp white cotton shirts and larger checks of yellow/grey being seen on single button casual blazers and tailored trousers. Knitwear is especially strong with cable knits, diagonal patterns and multiple colours featuring throughout.
It’s the tailoring that really stands out though, it’s simple and crisp, refined but casual and un-stuffy, with lots of interesting pieces and superb detailing and finishing. He’s certainly someone I’m going to start paying much more attention to over the coming seasons.
