White Mountaineering Spring/Summer 2012 – second drop
After featuring the first part of End Clothing’s stock of White Mountaineering’s Spring/Summer 2012 collection, (entitled ‘Dune Rover’), here’s a look at the second installment the Newcastle based shop has recently received.
Once again building upon the label’s ethos of ‘design, utility, technology and function’, the second drop offers more beautiful pieces from the range, with revolutionary techniques and processes used during the construction of every piece in this collection. With innovative materials such as durable rip-stop nylon and moisture wicking Pertex adding a heavy dose of functionality to Aizawa Yosuke’s considered silhouettes.
With flashes of influence from his former mentor, Junya Watanabe, the Japanese designer has hit upon a way to meld form and function together with consummate ease and in addition to the more technical aspects of the collection, traditional fabrics such as denim and sheepskin leather are also utilised throughout the collection.
In addition to the outerwear and larger pieces in the collection are a selection of premium cotton T-shirts as well a collaborative tote bag with Tokyo’s Porter. The entire range is designed and manufactured in Japan, with everything demonstrating the kind of quality and craftsmanship that’s becoming synonymous with the brand.
