Hentsch Man Autumn/Winter 2012 collection

March 16, 2012

Another next season collection from another great UK brand today. Hentsch Man consider themselves “a simple, elegant and wearable menswear brand, providing classic wardrobe basics”. Everything is simply built around the ideals of eliminating fanciful details and concentrating on making clothes that are both flattering and well fitting.

The label came about due to the search for the perfect white shirt, an endeavour that saw them set about designing their own. The hugely positive response this received led them to expand from shirts to a range that also featured tailoring, outerwear, shorts, denim and sweaters. So from simple beginnings the label now has a collection that contains everything the modern man needs in his wardrobe.

Autumn/Winter 2012 sees earthy tones mixed with brighter colours, bold checks, stripes and the de rigueur for next season (and this), camouflage. Select pieces of knitwear feature mixed yarns to great effect, whilst other pieces rely on fine gauges in strong colours. It’s the knitwear that really stands out for me here with the finer guage pieces being particularly appealing (especially the blue/black melange).

The formal rubs shoulders with the distinctly casual and in the process creates looks that are layered and full of differing textures. There’s yet another array of well thought out Menswear here, much of which takes a tailored approach but at the same time doesn’t take itself too seriously. And that in turn makes for a great collection packed full of of staple items you’ll actually want to wear.
