Band of Outsiders classic shoes

November 8, 2011

Band of Outsiders, the label set up back in 2004 by ex-Hollywood agent Scott Sternberg are a label with a look that takes in vintage-inspired and prep style cues with sharp tailoring, and an effortless style that takes you back to the East Coast of America in the 60s. They also by the look of things make a cracking pair of shoes – get your mince pies around these absolute beauties.

Made from a smooth calf leather and finished in a fantastic shade of inky blue, they certainly stand out in a the sea of tan brogues that’s currently out there. The slim profile with tonal laces that thread through five eyelets, plus simple broguing on the facings, toe cap and heal adds nice detail to the uppers and keeps them interesting, whilst still being subtle and classy.

The inside of the shoe is lined with the natural leather, which along with the welted natural double leather sole adds contrast and gives the shoes a visual lift.  The bottom of the soles are finished in a deep red that contrasts perfectly with the upper – I know most of this will get worn away but it’s still a lovely touch nonetheless and shows the thought that’s gone into these.

Great shoes and ones I’m very tempted with. If you fancy a pair yourself these are available at Très Bien shop here: Band of Outsiders classic shoes.

Woah, they’re very smart aren’t they. Too smart for me to ever consider. And I wouldn’t be able to get along with blue leather shoes. But that’s just me.

Lovely shoes but I’d not be able to eat for 3 months if I bought them.
