being|equal Autumn/Winter 2011 collection
I first featured East London’s being|equal back in May (find that post here) with a preview of their Autumn/Winter 2011 collection. Now that Autumn is finally here the lads have released the full collection and with it comes these images of the wider range.
The collection focusses on well produced and detailed staple items with a selection of practical but equally attractive pieces that encompasses everything from the humble T-shirt through to outerwear and an initial stab at suiting. Outerwear begins with the mid-length British Millerain ‘Resistance’ jacket, then there’s the simpler ‘Dash’, also in British Millerain and what I consider the pick of the bunch – their ‘Persue coat’ (second image), an elegant piece that’s fully lined and made from 100% Italian brushed cotton twill.
There are two styles of chino, both cut from 100% Italian cotton twill and offering either a relaxed wider cut with washed effect (Testify), or a more traditional, jeans style straight leg (Distinguished). Team these up with one of their natty shirts – either plain fronted, with symmetrical chest pockets, or if you fancy something a bit different, one large pocket that sits on the front of the ‘Voyage’ smock shirt.
And finally there’s the knitwear that I liked so much the first time round. Made from mixed yarn cotton, the static pieces are made from a reverse knit technique that gives the pieces a unique appearance, I’m tempted to give one of the oversized cardigans a go this Winter.
