Mr.Bathing Ape Autumn/Winter 2011 collection

October 12, 2011

Newcastle’s End Clothing have recently taken delivery of the latest range from Mr.Bathing Ape, the collaborative project between BAPE founder Nigo, and Japanese retailer United Arrows. Whilst I’m still a little unsure of the whole idea of this I must admit that I am starting to like it more and more as it starts to find its feet as a range of more formal clothing.

Born from Nigo’s love of Saville Row tailoring and fused with his streetwear sensibilities, the merging of these two separate entities has produced formal wear that’s traditional in appearance but at the same time also quite fun. Every item is of the highest quality, with the utmost attention to detail and produced exclusively in Japan using Japanese or Italian fabrics.

The centrepiece of this Autumn collection is a Japanese produced suit, constructed from a beautiful navy blue 100% Wool herringbone. From the outside the suit itself is a classically formal, three piece, two button affair, but open the jacket and the camouflage jacaranda silk linings are clearly visible but in a subtle way due to the tonal colours used.

This is also continued on the back of the six button waistcoat leaving you in no doubt as to who the suit is by. Team it up with one of their brighter silk ties and pocket squares and you’re all set (and probably very, very skint too). For more information, or to buy online go to End Clothing’s website and online store here: Mr.Bathing Ape.
