Six Eight Seven Six x Rohan Spring/Summer 2012 collection

September 9, 2011

Here’s a look at the eagerly awaited collaboration between Six Eight Seven Six and outdoor technical wear experts, Rohan who have been working on a collection together for Spring/Summer 2012.

Both are modern British brands that share a strong aesthetic sense, and the key principals of rigorous development to produce the best quality garments possible. So combining the design principals that are the bedrock of Six Eight Seven Six with Rohan’s deep technical know-how and manufacturing skill, was a logical step for both labels to take. This, their first collaborative collection achieves a perfect synergy by harnessing each brands talents.

I was lucky enough to be privy to all of this when I visited the studio late last year (find that post here) and Kenneth was really excited to be working with an outerwear brand he really respected to produce a small collection of subtle, technical garments. For next season five classic pieces from the Six Eight Seven Six archive have been given a new lease of life by combining their classic looks with Rohan’s latest developments in cutting edge technical fabric and exacting manufacturing.

And the fabrics are very clever indeed – although they look natural they aren’t, all being man-made for added warmth and durability, perfect for the outdoors, for which they are intended. This initial collection is considered by both parties as a compact statement of intent – subsequent seasons will see the range expanded in depth, whilst still maintaining the core strengths of these like minded brands – with the aim of creating a line of individual, modernist, British product.
