Pointer – Charlie Saddle shoe

September 5, 2011

Here’s yet another nice piece from UK footwear brand Pointer, this time in the shape of this great take on the popular Saddle shoe.

There are two versions available – both feature a dirty sand colour for the upper, with one the ‘saddle’ and heel counter is made from a burgundy leather leather and on the other version these same pieces come in dark brown, in a material that almost looks like waxed suede.

The old ‘bowling alley’ connotation can sometimes be a problem with many shoes of this kind, but luckily that’s not the case here as they come in a palette that’s perfect for Autumn and muted enough to work with anything. Both feature a natural welt with a chunky wedge sole made from crepe sitting under it and the heel of each version is home to some simple broguing which is a nice, subtle feature.

Both versions are available online now from Glass Boutique and for more information on the brand, or to find your nearest bricks and mortar stockist, go here: Pointer.

I love pointer and one of the main attractions has been the price point of shoes like the crago and Cyril. The latest batch sees prices creeping up. Is it justified in materials and build quality???

I think to an extent it is, they certainly seem to be trying to push the quality of their footwear up at the moment.
