Folk Autumn/Winter 2011 collection

July 21, 2011

Here’s a look at Folk’s latest lookbook for their Autumn/Winter 2011 collection. As you’d expect from the label, it’s another strong collection of what they do so well – beautifully constructed everyday clothes that are packed full of interesting and quirky details.

With it being a collection of clothing for the cold there’s plenty of knitwear – which is something I’ve always thought Folk were especially good at. So we’re treated to some lovely stuff to keep you warm – cardigans that either zip, or button up (third pic down = want), chunky jumpers (balaclava jumper? Brilliant) and accessories like bobble hats and scarves are all here, and in Folk’s own developed fabrics and knits.

Shirts come in a variety of styles from big navy blue and grey gingham’s to differing sized polka dots to grandad collar pullovers. Once again there’s lots of clever bits with interesting plackets, collar tabs, printed elbow patches (these look especially good on the gingham shirts) and the odd embroidered man also popping up in the mix.

Other garments include trousers which come in a selection of wool, cotton and corduroy and their own label footwear also makes an appearance throughout the shots. And then there’s the outerwear. It’s something that the label has been getting better and better at over the seasons, and this collection is excellent again with a range that takes in woolen blazers and double-breasted overcoats right through to pieces that are more technical like their Rainmac.

All of this is slowly starting to filter into the shops now so for more information on the brand, to find your nearest stockist, or to buy from their online shop go here: Folk.

Of all the British brands it’s Folk that do it for me the most. They’re the only one’s doing their own thing instead of just been stuck in heritage all the sodding time. Now I like a bit of Chambray just as much as the next bloke, probably more, but I also want clothes that are interesting too.

That’s why I don’t like much of the Ben Sherman stuff you’ve posted, it’s all a bit trad and bandwagon. The red jacket with the clips is the best of the lot but then you could just burn half of it as far as I’m concerned ‘cos it’s shit.

    This stuff is top though.

Another class collection. They can do no wrong at the moment in my eyes. Thank christ we’ve got brands like this.
