Sunpocket 2 sunglasses

July 11, 2011

Considering Summer seems to be hit and miss at the moment, having a pair of sunglasses stashed in your bag’s always a good idea for when the sun actually bothers to show itself. The thing is that carting around a pair in a hard case does require a bag of some sort to keep them in and something a bit more compact would be nice.

That’s where folding glasses come in, the obvious choice is Persol but what if you fancy something different (and a fair bit cheaper)? Well here’s a reasonable alternative – the Sunpocket 2.

As the name suggests this is Sunpocket’s second sunglasses model, and it’s one that’s more elegant and classic than the previous model, but still keeps the sporty appearance. The Classic French folding arm design hails from the 1970’s and inside the lightweight plastic frames sit polycarbonate lenses – giving your eyes 100% UV-protection.

Once the frames are fold up they can be neatly stashed away in a small, clear plastic snap shut case, which itself fits into a small soft cotton drawstring bag. In addition to the matt black versions shown above, the glasses also come in matt racing green, matt vanilla, matt turquoise, gloss white and gloss Tortoise shell.

They’re available now from Urban Industry for the princely sum of forty five quid, so if you fancy a pair go to their website here: Urban Industry.
