Scotch & Soda Spring/Summer 2011 collection‏

May 26, 2011

Another brand that’s new to me, and one that I was sent some images of a while back are Scotch & Soda. The Amsterdam based brand has been around in its latest incarnation since 2001, and makes a mix of Men’s, Women’s and Children’s wear. Obviously it’s the Men’s stuff I’m posting up here.

The range consists of plenty of lightweight Summer fabrics – with jersey basics, crisp plain cottons, cotton Madras and fine knits all making an appearance in this collection. The brand say the style of the collection is based on that of a “wandering wonderer, prepared for the unexpected“. I just think that there’s a few nice bits and pieces in here and ones worth a closer look.

With lots of casual, relaxed clothing there’s plenty here for dossing around in when you’re on your holidays, or just sat around in your garden enjoying the sun. There’s a selection of naval stripes (can’t go wrong with a Breton can you) in a mix of fabrications, linen and cotton shirting in decent checks or plain colours, washed out chambray and khaki and simple T-shirts. Some of it I wouldn’t wear (I don’t like clothes that are faux-distressed) but then there’s bits that I would – I think those bright chinos are a bit good and like I said, Breton stripes are always a winner.

I’ll admit that this is different to what I’d normally feature on the blog, but there’s always room for something a little different so there you go. If you want more information on the brand, then as usual you can go to the website here: Scotch & Soda.

Tks for the GOODS heads up (your link above) — very, very cool video and shop. Hard to find a hip “man shop” in Copenhagen that has just about everything! Or actually, hard to find that anywhere….
