Nörsea Industries Spring/Summer 2011 collection

April 28, 2011

I’ve featured the previous two collections by Nörsea Industries – the UK based (on the North East English coast) Menswear brand, set up by Stephen Banks back in 2008, and here’s a selection of looks from their latest offering for this years Spring/Summer season.

The label is well known for combining not only the traditions of English work wear and utility clothing, but also the methods of their production too. They’re meticulous in their use of organic yarns and dyes, keeping these a priority in the manufacture of their clothing ranges.

This season feels like a much lighter, airier affair than even last Summer’s collection. It all feels very simple, clean and fresh even, but that’s not to say that it’s flat in any way. Because it’s not – as I think I’ve said with previous seasons, they make simple clothing that assimilates into your wardrobe easily and that’s one of the things I always like about this label.

So from simple T-shirts and shirting, through to dark denim, chinos, shorts and also the odd bit of outerwear, you know you can buy a piece and not have to then think about what to wear it with – it’ll slot right in and will go with everything you already have. There’s also a few pieces of luggage in the collection with the blue tote in the second image being the pick of the bunch for me.

Starting with T-shirts there are a few different styles with the royal blue in the first couple of shots standing out due to colour alone, and the zig zag ones look pretty nice too, especially the darker and more colourful version. The white with red and blue stripes is a classic combination (adidas Americana anybody?) but my favorite of the lot is probably the cloud print with turn-up sleeves – the yellow adding a touch of colour to the simple black and white that works really well.

Shirting also comes in a number of different styles and fabrics, with plains, checks, gingham’s and stripes all in the collection. Classic, penny and grandad collars are all catered for and even a smock shirt makes an appearance. Legwear comes courtesy of the afore mentioned denim – in a loose fit with white contrast stitching – trousers in either cotton twill or cotton canvas, shorts in a few styles and there’s also a pair of utility pants (which look well comfy).

Finishing the collection off are the bags – the large navy blue tote that I’ve got my eye on, the emergency bag in orange cotton canvas which looks perfect for weekends away, and the grey felted wool and black leather – again perfect for travel and rather smart and classy to boot. To take a look at the full collection (because there’s loads more), for more information on the brand, or to find out about stockists go here: Nörsea Industies.

The tees and half-placket shirt look mint. Sadly can’t find the gear in any of the usual stores. Hoping its not dropped yet. Have emailed them – do you have any idea where it might drop Lineage?
