Oliver Spencer’s shoe shop

April 18, 2011

Not content with having a nice clothes shop with some cracking clobber in it, Oliver Spencer’s gone and opened his own shoe shop too. As with his main store, this one is also located on Lambs Conduit Street (number 37 to be exact), so once you’re sorted for clothes, good footwear is only a short walk away.

The shop will exclusively stock the new, British made ‘Spencer’ range of footwear (you can see two pairs from the range below), but will also be stocking other brands, with the likes of Quoddy, Converse, Gourmet and Velva all in store. Accessories like leather wallets from Il Bussetto and leather belts and canvas bags by Sean Marshall will also be available and there’s the odd tie and magazine in there too.

The reason for the stores opening is explained by Oliver as thus: “We’ve created a place where men can find a really great pair of shoes – every visit. Men are not being looked after by the current crop of stores. We want to give blokes what they deserve: an olds chool shoe shop for the modern guy, our type of guy, the guy who wants quality and style on their feet.”

The space is great and there looks to be a decent range on the shelves. The collaboration between former Liberty Head of Menswear Simon Spiteri and Spencer has developed a man’s ideal shoe wardrobe, with trainers to deck shoes, moccasin’s to Brogue boots, and everything else in-between catered for – just what you want from a good shoe shop.

So if you’re around the area and fancy a new pair of shoes, there’s a new place to go. I can’t wait to have a look round and will be having a wonder down there this lunchtime. For more information on the brand have a look at the website here: Oliver Spencer.
