What I want – Fallow belts

March 24, 2011

Fallow are a fairly recent addition to our denim scene. They make a small but great range of jeans. They’re full of loads of great detailing and are produced using a 13.75oz selvedge denim from Japan which is then cut and made right here in the UK. As good as their denim is though, it’s not all the brand are good for, as these belts more than prove.

Both are made from premium leather, are hand woven and come in two colourways; orange & grey or pink & purple. They also feature a brass buckle which itself receives a bit of the leather treatment. Then purple stitching finishes things off and ties the colours together nicely.

As well as being nice and colourful, the four part weave is a good width too – sometimes you find that woven belts just end up being a bit too wide. These are perfect though and you’ll have no problems getting them through the loops on your favorite denim.

And it’s denim that they’ll go best with in my opinion, especially as the leather starts to soften, breaking down and being discoloured by the indigo coming off your jeans in the process and developing their own patina. I’ve got a Bathing Ape woven belt that’s about seven years old, and it looks great now it’s really broken in. I’ve no doubt these will look even better than they do now with a few years wear on them too.

If you fancy either of these they’re available from Paper Scissors Stone, or for more information on the brand visit their website here: Fallow Denim.

Love them! Think the orange version is the best of the two. Will get one when its payday.

Ruined by the gold buckle, it looks really cheap.

I don’t mind the buckle, it’s worth remembering that it’s made from solid cast Brass so it will dull down and tarnish with age.
