Handsom Spring/Summer 2012 collection

March 14, 2011

Back in November I featured a label by the name of Handsom (which you can find here). Based in Australia but started by British designers Sam Rush and Henry Allum two years ago, Handsom produce both Men’s and Women’s clothing and have undoubtedly been getting stronger with each collection.

Late last week Henry sent over their new Spring/Summer 2012 collection (southern hemisphere, so this would be out when Autumn/Winter 2011 collections hit stores in the northern half of the globe) and I thought I’d post up some of the images on here for people to have a look at.

As with the last collection there’s loads of great items and plenty I love the look of. There’s nothing fancy, just simple items with good details, the way I like my clothes to be. The breadth of the range has increased and there’s also a range of footwear for this season (of which the deck boots look cracking), plus accessories like that rather natty leather weekend bag in the last image.

The shirting caught my attention, not just the floral number in the first image but the red Oxford with the big front pocket (and what a class detail that is), the shirt with contrast placket and front pocket and of course the washed out Chambray. There’s loads more besides with stripes, prints and denim also making an appearance in a few different styles. Plus there’s also some polo shirts and the odd Henley top in the collection too.

Due to this being for Spring/Summer there’s obviously a lot less knitwear in the range but the single piece on show here (there’s also a cricket vest) is still a cracker – cable knit, off white and with long ribbed cuffs, great for chucking on when the temperature starts to cool. And maybe you’d be chucking it over that grey marl T-shirt with its contrast pocket? A simple but great way of making a T-shirt more interesting.

And the rest of the collection is just as strong. There’s plenty of different styles of shorts, plus cotton chinos and those trousers with the white trim around the back pocket, which look a bit cargo pant like (but I’m not sure to be honest). The simple marl sweatshirt with the suede elbow patches looks lush and there’s some really nice outerwear (especially the navy blue jacket in images 17 and 18).

All-in-all a great collection and one that I’ve only featured a small selection of (because it’s just take up too much room to feature everything). This is a big range and one that I’m definitely looking forward to seeing more of. To see the current range, or for more information on the brand check out their website here: Handsom.

Now that navy jacket is proper.

UK stockist at all? I’d like a good look at some of this.
