Uniqlo +J Spring/Summer 2011 outerwear

February 3, 2011

Jil Sander’s collection with Uniqlo seems to get better with each passing season and this years Spring/Summer collection once again carries on this way with some well thought out and well priced pieces, including some seriously nice outerwear.

It’s good to see something different with the outerwear in this collection – whereas much of the range is focused on simplicity to produce lovely understated items, these jackets take a different tack all together. In my opinion that’s a good thing too, because they look cracking.

Now normally I like my jackets simple and as devoid of fuss as possible but this multi-pocketed version works so well that I can happily make the exception. My initial impression is that of the two colours shown, I prefer the sand with its matching buttons, as I think it works better than the contrast buttons that feature on the olive (or is it khaki? I can’t tell from the image). That’s not to say I don’t like the other one though, as it’s clearly still very nice and both are more than worthy of closer inspection.

They’re a decent price at £149 each and hopefully they’ll be of the quality we’ve come to expect from this collaboration – the few bits I’ve bought over the seasons have always been really well made, especially for the price. This collection is instore from today and should be available online now, so if you fancy one of these then get to it.

For more information have a look at the website here: Uniqlo +J.

Where to buy the collection online if you do not live in U.K. ?

The whole collection is also available online, so presumably you could buy it over the internet and get it shipped to you? It is a worldwide collection and should be available in Uniqlo’s flagship stores.

Thanks, but the problem is that they don’t ship to Italy. I think that I should use a so called “proxy” …

Ah, I didn’t realise that they wouldn’t ship it over to Italy. A proxy might be your only option in that case I’m afraid.

some decent quality bits and pieces again from the J+ range. It’s just a shame they don’t do XL – the sizeist swines.

That jacket fits huge. I’m a medium/large and tried it on and the small fit me.

Interestingly, there’s a red version of the miltary jacket on the website, but it’s not available on the online store which is rather annoying. It looks quite a nice piece of kit for the price

There’s a bright blue version that I’ve seen pictures of too but isn’t featured on the site either. I’m not sure if it’ll be a March release or not.
