What I want – J. Panther Luggage Co. Ruc Tote

January 14, 2011

When is a rucksack not a rucksack? And when is a Tote not a Tote? When it’s a bit of both, that’s when.

After looking at J. Panther’s new retail launch and their ‘luggage stories’ book (find that post here), this piece of luggage caught my eye and is a cracking looking thing in its mix of canvas and leather. What’s most interesting though is it’s versatility – with its multi-use ability coming courtesy of some clever use of the leather straps that adorn it.

In all there are three different ways in which this bag can be carried – as a rucksack, over the shoulder as a tote, or thanks to another pair on handles that store away neatly, it can also be carried in your hands by your side. The body of the bag is made from a lightly waxed 21oz sand coloured canvas which is double layer at the bottom for extra durability.

The canvas is then contrasted beautifully with the tan leather straps and trims, all of which adds together to produce something that looks really smart without being particularly formal – it’s also bag that should age brilliantly and will probably look even better as it does. Features a zip fastened main compartment with internal pockets, plus a pair of pockets on the front there’s plenty of room to put your stuff and whether you wear it on your back, under your arm or by your side it’s a bag that should serve you well.

To find out more about the brand, or if you fancy one of these for bags for yourself, have a look at their website here: J.Panther Luggage Co.

Not as yet James, but both a UK stockist and UK delivery via our online store are in the pipeline…

    Cheers,
