Winter at The Bureau, Belfast

December 9, 2010

A shop that I’ve wanted to get myself to for a long time is The Bureau in Belfast. The guys opened their first store back in 1989 before moving into their current home at 46-50 Howard Street in 2005 where they both restored an original old tobacconist and stripped out an old hostel dining rooms to create the store as it now is.

The below shots are taken from their blog and only serve to make me want to check the place out even more than I already did.

With a great stock from a great range of brands including Alden, Ally Capellino, Arc’teryx Veilance, Baracuta, C.P. Company, Double RL, Engineered Garments, Gitman Bros. Vintage, Heritage Research, L.V.C., Margaret Howell, Mark McNairy New Amsterdam, New Balance, Nigel Cabourn, Paul Smith, Post Overalls, Raleigh Denim, Reigning Champ, S.N.S. Herning, Tricker’s, ts(s), Woolrich Woolen Mills and Yuketen, plus more besides it’s proving itself to be one of the UK’s strongest stores.

It also shows how committed the store is to getting decent labels in – I don’t think there’s another independent store with that breadth of brands around to be honest, and in my mind it marks The Bureau out as a store to be paying serious attention to.

For more information on the store, or to shop online go here: The Bureau.

Stumbled accross this store when in belfast a couple of years ago, lovely feel to the store, tbh was the only decent shop i remember from the city, they seem to have a monopoly on decent brands in belfast.

Went to the store when i was there a few weeks back & it’s great. The lads there are top too, spent loads more than I should have but I guess that’s testament to how good the stock is.

Yeah, the mail order service is really good. I’ve never been there but I’ve ordered stuff from them a few times and they’re dead friendly lads and my stuff always got delivered quickly.

Yeah, true. The Manc lads also do a cracking job of getting hellishly good stock in their store.
