Not ones to rest on their laurels, British accessory label CHERCHBI is back for Spring/Summer 2013 with an evolution of their Black Sail rucksack. Already a staple in the brand’s collection, it’s now been updated for even better performance.

The bags are bench-made in England with the preparation, cutting, and construction taking hundreds of individual processes. And for this season find themselves constructed from a new waterproof version of their union cloth. One that’s woven in Burnley, Lancashire, and waterproof bonded down the road in Oldham.

The ecru/black cotton/linen fabric keeps its trademark herringbone pattern and is once again trimmed with black vegetable-tanned British saddle leather, the production of which still utilises traditional leatherwork and saddlery techniques. Hardware is top quality stuff in solid brass, with all zips by riri.

The large main compartment is cotton lined and features numerous pockets for your laptop and all your other daily essentials. Everything is kept safe with drawstring closure and a large flap that’s fastened via a pair of leather straps. As is always the case with these bags, they’re made to exceptional standards and will last a lifetime.

Universal Works x Millican short film

In this short film, David Keyte talks about how the collaboration between Universal Works and Millican came about. Filmed by Alex Hamlin of Transparent Studios, it finds Keyte and Jorrit Jorritsma (Co-Founder Millican) for one of their design meetings ahead of the SS/13 collection launch.

Three Over One online shop launch

It’s been a while since I featured Australian label, Three Over One on the blog and with the recent launch of their online shop it’s about time I put that right. Jim Thompson’s brand was established in 2008 and since then it’s carved an aesthetic that’s Influenced by an appreciation of the attitudes, style, quality and workmanship of the past – the idea is to produce classic pieces and styles that have longevity.

Above is a selection of the latest brand imagery, which saw Thompson having each image shot with traditional film. This further adds to the label’s image, and is certainly a welcome change in this ever expanding digital age. The clothing itself is timeless and much of it is washed repeatedly for added softness, giving it the look and feel of a well worn favourite.

With the opening of this new online shop, those wanting a piece from the brand now have easier access to it. Amsterdam Shoe Co. Boat Moc

I’ve said in the past that I’ve never been a fan of boat shoes, and find them a bit, well they’re shoes for posho’s aren’t they? However there are a few styles out there that have had me reconsidering this footwear type and these from Amsterdam Shoe Co. are somewhere at the top of that.

The two-tone look helps, as does the lush suede they’re made from and the simple styling with white laces and sole (apart from the brown/orange which goes down the tonal route but even this I quite like). My pick of the lot is the navy blue pair though – the brighter blue ankle collar and tonally different vamp contrast brilliantly with the navy base and the contrast from the white works a treat.
