Barbour Cassells jacket

June 25, 2013

A new piece from Barbour for your perusal today. This, their Cassells jacket is part of the newly launched Barbour Department (B) collection. The range is named after a specialised area in the South Shields factory which focused on customisation – owners would be able to send their jackets in for additional reinforcements or additional pockets etc. And it’s this that Department B takes its inspiration from.

The jacket is constructed from a medium-weight cotton with a 6oz Sylkoil wax coating. It’s a slim fitting piece with the navy blue placket being the first thing that catches your eye. This features six large press-studs that fasten over a full length zip and the contrast  it gives works perfectly with the customised influence it carries.

The collar features corduroy on the collar stand and inner facings for extra comfort, as well as a storm flap and when the weather gets really bad, a stow-away hood in the back. There’s a plethora of pockets in which to stash your valuables – a pair of hand warmer pockets on the from are bolstered with a bellows chest pocket and a vertical zip pocket.

And if that wasn’t enough there’s a zip pocket on the back of each arm, a large bellows rear pocket and a pair of interior pockets. It’s available now from Aphrodite, so if you fancy one, or just want more information on it, go to the website here: Barbour Cassells jacket.
