Smith-Wykes Autumn/Winter 2013 collection
One of the highlights from the fourth Jacket Required was seeing the Autumn/Winter 2013 collection from Smith-Wykes. The London/Paris based Menswear label was founded in 2010, and have yet again produced another fine selection of well cut and detailed pieces.
With strong angular lines, contrasting panels and simple detailing, it’s a collection that begs further investigation. And upon doing so, you’re greeted with subtle prints on shirts, oversized shoulder panels on outerwear and fine knitwear in pastel shades of green and dusty pink.
The overall palette is a subtle affair, with strong use of grey, navy blue and forest green throughout, that give focus to the fabrics used instead of overpowering them. Waxed cottons, Melton wool, Alpaca, wool flannel, jersey and raw denim are the materials of choice here and all combine to create a grown up, easily wearable collection.
It’s a great range that’s well worth hunting down when it’s launched. For more information on the brand and to see their collection for Spring/Summer 2013, go to their website here: Smith-Wykes.

I got chatting with Rory from smith-wykes, nice bloke.
