Veras – up close

February 6, 2013

With the build up to Jacket Required in full swing, here’s a close up view of a label I always look forward to catching up with, Veras. Since starting out in 2010 they’re been a firm favourite around here and always seem adept at knocking out shoes that are simple, good looking and well priced.

Constructed in Southern Spain, all of Veras’ footwear is made by the hands of traditional craftsmen with many years experience in footwear design and production, using locally sourced materials. The label continues to use premium leather and suede for outers, with pigskin linings and crepe or rubber soles.

There are a couple of new styles again this season, with their leather Gerona model (a moccasin chukka with crepe sole) set to be an absolute winner. And this all comes from the simple desire to produce shoes that Neil, the man behind the brand likes and wants to wear. Luckily there’s plenty of other people that share his view of his excellent footwear.

Stockist include the likes of Oi Polloi, Trunk Clothiers, Oliver Spencer and Number Six London.
