Nörsea Industries Spring/Summer 2010

Nörsea Industries are a UK based Menswear brand, based on the North East coast that was started back in 2008. They combine not only the traditions of English work wear and utility clothing, but also the methods of their production too – with the use of organic yarns and dyes being a priority in their manufacture and the use of hand made trims developed in-house and also authentic silversmithing techniques.

The brand have produced a modern collection of reworked classics that they say celebrates the local region, taking inspiration from the people and seascapes of the North Sea. With that in mind here’s a look at a small selection of their Spring/Summer 2010 collection:

What I think is good is the fact that not all of the pieces are what you could term ‘utility’, some are very obviously inspired by that type of clothing but there’s much more going on than that and the whole collection is both considered and up to date in terms of style.

I really like the striped blazer shown above, it just seems at odds with everything else but because of that works brilliantly. I know it’s not going to be to everyone’s taste but that doesn’t stop it being a great piece and a great way of brightening up your daily look.

The rest of the collection is just as well thought out (because what I’ve shown above is only a taste. Click the link to their site where you can see everything they’ve done for summer) and put together in a way that’s easy to assimilate into what you already own (yes I’m still banging on about that) – great, well made staple items including button-down shirting, polos, solid outwear and trousers all add up to a well rounded collection and one that’s more than worth a look.
